Transnational Working Visit to Malta and International Conference

At the end of May 2025, DSDRO – Diplomacy, Security and Defence Research Organisation – had the honor of participating in the International Conference of the Erasmus+ project “Inclusive Leadership for Ethical and Multicultural Future Youth Leaders” (ILED-EMFYL), hosted in the symbolic setting of the Citadel in Victoria, Gozo (Malta) – a place where history and the present met in an inspiring dialogue.

The event brought together the project’s international partners: Ministry for Gozo (MGOZ – Malta), Igor Vitale International srl (IVI-srl – Italy), and Addu Women’s Association (AWA – Maldives). Together, we enthusiastically presented the results of the project, highlighting its significant impact on the development of young leaders in multicultural and diverse environments.

DSDRO’s contribution to the conference focused on two fundamental themes for understanding and supporting inclusive leadership in a global context:

• The psychological needs of young inclusive leaders in multicultural environments – an analysis emphasizing the importance of emotional balance, resilience, and psychological support in shaping authentic leaders.
• Entrepreneurial skills and their role in strengthening inclusive leadership – a presentation showing how initiative, innovation, and strategic thinking can serve as essential tools for social transformation and for integrating young people into the dynamics of a global economy.

These topics reflect our commitment to nurturing young leaders who act with empathy, ethics, and openness, qualities that are indispensable in a constantly changing world.

Beyond the academic and professional dimension, our hosts in Malta prepared a remarkable cultural program, with visits to historical and cultural landmarks on both Gozo Island and mainland Malta. This intercultural component added depth to the conference experience, once again underlining that cultural diversity is the very foundation of our project.
