VISIT TO AN ECONOMIC FACILITY WITH A RELEVANT ROLE IN

SAVING THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

The visit to an economic facility, with a relevant role in saving the natural environment, was of particular importance in consolidation theoretical knowledge and in concrete observation in which the economic environment contributes to the security of the natural environment.

In this sense, a company was chosen for the recycling waste, coming from the population and economic agents – ROMWASTE Solutions SA. This company, located in Dragomirești Vale commune, near Bucharest, is one of the most modern processing, sorting and recycling stations for collected waste, with a processing capacity of 600 tons of municipal waste/day. At the same time, the company issues recovery certificates for each product.

The participants of the project had the chance not only to get detailed explanations, in a friendly and professional way, about technological procedure of processing, sorting and recycling garbage, but, above all, to visit the belly of this garbage recycling plant, totally automated and equipped with the most modern devices in the world.

Thus, it was possible to observe how the garbage trucks unload the garbage, how it enters the mechanical and electronic sorting equipment and how, finally, the garbage turns into plastic granules, into bales of: paper, aluminum, iron and other metals and in compost – ready to be reused in the process of producing new material goods.

Operators in the control room of the waste processing plant closely monitor each process and can select, according to market requirements, the products that are requested to be processed, with priority.

The participants of the visit understood:

how important is the selective sorting of garbage, starting from everyone’s home or workplace, so that, in the end, we benefit from cheaper products on the shelf and more money in our pockets.
that such an industrial facility can recycle a huge amount of garbage, which would otherwise have ended up in landfills and polluted the natural environment;
recycled factory materials (paper, iron, aluminum, plastic, etc.) contribute directly to the reduction of the harmful effects of the exploitation of natural resources: forests, iron mines, petroleum products, etc.
the recovery of recyclable materials, carried out by ROMWASTE Solutions SA, contributes to great energy savings, which otherwise would have consumed many resources to be produced;
that the processing, sorting and recycling of garbage can be done efficiently, ecologically, without smell – to benefit from a healthy life, in a healthy environment;
that the need to multiply such facilities for the processing, sorting and recycling of garbage, at national, European and even international level, represents a real solution to one of the biggest problems of humanity – the management of increasingly large quantities of garbage, which contaminates our soil, water and air.

The visit to ROMWASTE Solutions SA showed us that IT IS POSSIBLE, that THERE IS HOPE FOR THE EARTH, that OUR ATTITUDE, BEHAVIOR AND MOTIVATION TO SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT ARE VERY IMPORTANT.

We also learned that, in the future, garbage will gradually transform from the most hated thing on the Planet into a valuable resource that will help us contribute to the security of the natural environment.
