WORKSHOP 1
SAVE ENERGY, SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT
The workshop: “Save Energy, Save The Environment” aims to raise the awareness of the audience regarding the most effective ways to save energy which can be used in the daily lives of each of us.Thus, it is a practical-applied exercise on the issue of protecting the natural environment, focused on saving energy, in order to save the environment.
This Workshop’sgoal is to stimulate the creativity, critical thinking and responsibility of the participants on the most efficient and intelligent energy saving ideas that can be used or promoted in the local community.
Certain invoked emotions and the rational analysis of the debated environmental issues generate the change of attitude in the direction of environmental protection and will induce, implicitly, the development of manifest behaviours in this direction.
Another important aspect that will allow the achievement of the proposed objectives is the creation of a set of green competences for participants. These are: systemic thinking on environmental issues, anticipatory thinking on climate change, the ability to strategically approach environmental protection, critical thinking on environmental issues, the ability to self-analyse their own behaviours in environmental issues, ability to creatively solve problems in the field of environmental protection, thinking based on green civic engagement values, decision-making skills, capacity for international and national collaboration in solving problems related to environmental protection, long-term planning, normative skills (based on sustainability , legality, environmental protection policies, fairness, happiness, wellbeing, risk management, ethical questions, etc.), ability to work with multiple variables, risk management in environmental protection issues, stress management, cultivating awareness regarding environment, interconnection capacity with networks that promote pro environmental management, the ability to integrate new green scientific and technological discoveries into daily life, modelling sustainable behaviour, developing empathy for other living things, commitment to the common good, care and interest for others, care for self, inclusive and interdisciplinary work, resistance to ambiguity and frustration in managing conflicts related to environmental protection, lifecycle thinking, creative use of existing resources, lifelong learning and question-asking, application of the concepts of ethics, social justice and environmental protection in society.
The development of green behaviours is another way to achieve the proposed objectives. Thus, beyond ideas, emotions, attitudes, motivations, civic attitude, it is inferential that it is very important to develop green behaviours. They have real, measurable action value with short, medium and long-term effects, in the direction of protecting the natural environment and combating climate change.
