ENVIRONMENT SECURITY, OUR FUTURE SECURITY(E-SEC)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The motivation for this project started from the fact that most people, although they know general elements related to the protection of the environment, are not concerned in regard to the dramatic consequences of climate change, and have not formed a pro-environment mindset.

Thus, they cannot effectively contribute in any way to theprotection of the natural environment, because this issue is placed far from their immediate interests. At the same time, most people believe that “others” are responsible for environmental protection and that they not only do not know what to do, but also do not have the power to initiate actions to protect the natural environment.

The E-SEC project aims to awaken certain emotions in individuals, to form attitudes, to multiply opinions and to initiate a course of action in the direction of protecting the natural environment. People need to understand that the security of the natural environment is part of their own security.

The project involves concrete pro-environmental actions, designed to motivate, change attitudes and develop pro-environmental behaviours to a diverse range of direct and indirect beneficiaries. The proposed intellectual products are designed to raise awareness of various categories of people, with important roles in society to be directly, actively and comprehensively involved in protecting the natural environment.

International collaboration between organizations from different European countries is a very important aspect of this project. This aspect allows an active and beneficial exchange of experience, on the one hand, and a multiplication, on an even larger scale, of the project results, on the other hand. Protecting the natural environment is ultimately the result of an international effort.

Therefore, the actions of the project participants, with short, medium and even long-term effects, are intended to join the European and international effort to initiate and promote realistic policies for the protection of the environment.

The project will encourage critical thinking, creativity and a pragmatic approach to environmental issues. Solving the complicated environmental protection problems faced by local communities requires a careful and critical study of reality, associated with innovative, original solutions that come in a pragmatic and realistic way to meet environmental problems.

The proactive and underlying motivation of the participants towards environmental protection will play an important role in achieving the planned objectives. It is estimated that lack of motivation can be one of the biggest obstacles in implementing a project. To solve this problem, the motivation of the staff involved in environmental issues will be sought. Thus, people will have to consciously understand the harmful consequences of neglecting and ignoring the protection of the natural environment and act out of conviction to limit actions that could disturb theenvironment in the short, medium and long term.

In addition to these elements, the project aims to improve and expand the offer of high-quality learning opportunities for adults, providing flexible learning offerings tailored to their learning needs (e.g., blended learning, digital learning applications) and by validating skills acquired through informal and non-formal learning. In order for the set of knowledge to be transferred to the direct and indirect participants in the project, it is necessary to use an extensive and well-adapted range of learning techniques, specific to adult training. Therefore, classical methods will be combined with unconventional, practical and applicative learning procedures, which will stimulate the interest of the participants and facilitate the transfer of knowledge in the most appropriate way.

The E-SEC project has the following objectives:

  1. Developing a positive attitude, motivation and overt behavior dedicated to protecting the natural environment and combating climate change.
  2. Strengthen a common set of values and develop cross-border civic engagement skills, designed to stimulate active involvement and participation in actions to protect the natural environment and combat climate change.
  3. Increase of the international visibility of the natural environment protection project, by promoting actionswith long-term effects in the field of adult education.

In this regard, the following activities have been planned out: eight workshops (four in Romania and four in Italy), two visits to eco-friendly companies (one in Romania and one in Italy), four transnational meetings (two in Romania and two in Italy), editing a Green Guide and organizing a Green Conference (both of them in Romania, in cooperation with the Italian partner -IVI srl).
